Who we are
Huddle is run by Dahyeon Han (“we”, “us”). We decide how the personal data described here is used. You can reach us at cityboy7648@gmail.com.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist
- Your email address
- Your role on the team (leader, member, guest, solo, or other)
- Which button opened the form (for example, the header or the bottom of the page)
- A random referral code we create for you and, if you came through someone's invite link, their referral code
- How you found us: the campaign tags in the link you used (for example, utm_source=instagram) and the website that sent you, if any. We read these only when you submit the form and don't store them in your browser.
- The date and time you signed up
The questions you answer while signing up
While you join, we ask a few questions, one at a time: what your project is, how your team made its last shared doc, whether you've looked for an easier way, how often you make shared docs, how long a project usually lasts, and what you'd make first. Most are multiple choice. If you pick “Other”, we save what you type. When you finish, we save your answers with your email address, your referral code, and the language of the page. Your email is passed to that page in memory only, not in the link or your browser's storage.
On the last step, we ask you to confirm you're 16 or older and to agree to how we use your data, and you can choose whether to get product news by email. We record which version of this notice you agreed to and whether you chose product news. We save your sign-up only when you get to the end. If you leave before that, nothing is saved.
We don't ask for your name, phone number, or payment details. Please don't include other people's personal details in your answers.
When you visit the site
- Our hosting provider records technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, so the site can be delivered and kept secure.
- Our font provider receives your IP address when your browser downloads the font files.
See “Cookies and similar technologies” below for how we count visits and what we record while you use the site.
Cookies and similar technologies
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics: which pages are viewed, the site that sent you, the campaign tags in the link, your country, and your browser and device type. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify you.
We also record how the site is used so we can improve it: pages you open, buttons and links you press (the text on them and where they are on the page), how far you scroll, how long you stay on a page, and how far you get through the sign-up questions. We never record what you type into a field. These records come with your language, device type, country, and where you came from, and are grouped by a random session number that lives only in the open tab and changes when you reload.
When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may store a small random visitor ID in your browser's local storage. If you accept, your visits on the same browser are grouped under that ID so we can see when you come back. If you reject, or don't choose, nothing is stored and your visits stay anonymous per tab. We also store your choice so we don't ask again. You can change it anytime with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page. The visitor ID isn't linked to your email. The site doesn't use advertising cookies or trackers.
Why we use it
- To tell you when the beta opens and send occasional beta updates. We rely on your consent, which you give by checking the box on the last step. You can withdraw it at any time.
- To send product news, only if you chose to get it. We rely on your separate, optional consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To understand which teams are interested, what problems matter most to them, where they found us, and to credit referrals. We rely on our legitimate interest in planning the beta. For your answers to the sign-up questions, we rely on your consent, which you give by checking the box on the last step.
- To recognize you when you come back, only if you accept in the cookie banner. We rely on your consent, which you can withdraw anytime with “Cookie settings”.
- To keep the site working and secure. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a safe website.
We don't sell or rent your personal data, and we don't share it for advertising.
Who else handles it
We use these service providers. They process data only on our instructions.
- Google LLC (Google Sheets and Apps Script): stores the waitlist, your answers, your consent record, and the usage records described in “Cookies and similar technologies”
- Vercel Inc.: hosts the site, keeps server logs, and provides cookieless visit statistics (Web Analytics)
- jsDelivr: delivers the font files
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries. When your data leaves your country, for example the EU, the UK, or South Korea, we rely on the safeguards these providers offer, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist data until the beta opens and for up to one year after, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. We then delete it. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited time under its own policy.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data, to stop using it, or to give you a copy. You can also withdraw your consent to emails at any time. Just email us at cityboy7648@gmail.com, and we'll reply within 30 days.
- If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
- If you're in California, we don't sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA.
Children
The site isn't meant for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has joined the waitlist, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and only the people running Huddle can access the waitlist.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date above. For important changes, we'll also email everyone on the waitlist.
